5 months!!

You were 5 months old in April and I can see signs of you growing up this month.

We gave you some cereal for a few days.  You sure did like eating out of  a spoon like a big girl.  We soon figured out that your little tummy wasn't quite ready for food though, so we went back to just milk for a couple more weeks.  The next food we tried was avocado.  You thought that was pretty yummy.  We also tried green beans and you enjoyed those, although they seemed to give you a little bit of a tummy ache.

We kept taking you on walks so you could explore the big outdoors.  You fell even more in love with your daddy.  I think you are going to be a big daddy's girl! There were a couple of times when daddy's work schedule made it so you didn't get to see him very much for a few days and you would get so fussy!  You started recognizing daddy when he comes home from work and would welcome him with a big smile and outstretched arms.  It is the cutest thing.

After a couple weeks of sleeping very well at night, you suddenly started waking up at lease 4 times a night.  You were so sleepy and cranky.  Mama was sleepy and cranky.  I had no idea why you were waking up so often.  I finally realized that you started not sleeping well about the time we started giving you food, so after about a week, we switched your food meal to the morning and you went back to sleeping better.  Yay!!

You started getting stronger and able to wiggle yourself around a little more.  You also had your first Easter.  You had such a pretty dress and we went to church with Grandma, Poppa and Mawmaw, then out to lunch afterwards.

Aunt Tricia, Uncle Tony, Natalie, Gabbie and Savannah sent you an exersauser to play in and you thought that was one of the best toys ever invented.  Mama thought it is pretty great too because it keeps you occupied for a few minutes so I could get a few things done with both hands.

Mimi and Pawpaw came to visit you, but it was a very short visit because Pawpaw had to go back to work so we don't have any pictures.

You make us laugh and are changing so much.  You are such a sweet little girl and are starting to actually act like you enjoy life now.

Easter

Easter was a little different for us this year.  Clint's job told him he either had to work Easter or Mother's Day this year.  Mother's Day is baby dedication at church so He decided to work Easter so he could be there for the dedication.  Chloe and I went to church with Clint's parent's and then we went to lunch afterwards.  Clint got home early evening and we were able to spend a peaceful evening at home just the three of us.  It wound up being a pretty nice day.  A group was having a little egg hunt at our apartment complex so we took Chloe to watch and she loved it.  She loves watching all the activity.  Next year she will be big enough to participate in an egg hunt.

4 Months Old!!

You turned 4 months old in March!  I can't believe how fast you are growing!!

This was a month of many sleepless nights.  I don't think either one of us slept very good for almost the whole month.

You had your 4 month check up and you are up to 12 pounds!!  That is almost twice as much as you weighed when you were born!  You got some more shots and the doctor told us we could start you on food if we wanted to.

We took you to church for the first time on February 12th.  You loved the music, but like to talk a lot during the preaching so mama had to sit in the foyer with you so we didn't disturb the other people.  You also prefer the people that are holding you to be standing and moving so the music is perfect for you.  If mama or daddy would stand with you during preaching I think you would like that just fine.

We had our first trip to the grocery store without someone to help us this month.  Mama was nervous, but you were a perfect angel.  You loved seeing all the new thing that there were to see.

You also started to respond occasionally when people called your name. It was so cute to see you turn your little head and look at the person who said hi to you.  You rolled from you back to your tummy a few times.  That sure did make you mad though.  You still hated being on your tummy. You found your feet and decided that they are one of the most fun toys that there is.  You were always playing with them and eventually decided that they tasted pretty good too.

You met the baby in the mirror and thought she was pretty fun to smile at.   We took you to the beach a couple more times.  It was pretty cold and windy so we didn't stay long.  Soon it will be warn enough for us to go and let you play.

3 Months Old!

You turned 3 months old in February.

In February we also started settling into a little routine.  You still only napped for about 30 minutes at a time, but I finally noticed this pattern and was able to work it into a schedule of sorts.  You usually take about 3-4 30 minute naps a day.  I think you would be a much happier baby if you slept for a couple of hours in a row, but I guess you are afraid something fun will happen while you are sleeping.  You are such a silly girl when it comes to sleep.

Mama finally started to get into a routine and began to figure out to how keep the housework done while taking care of you at the same time.  You did a lot of housework with me, because propped on my hip watching what I was doing was one of the only things that kept you happy while I worked.

You got thrush.  It took us forever to get rid of it and you sported a purple mouth for a couple of weeks.

You went on walks outside almost daily, loved snuggling with your daddy, and wanted desperately to sit up like a big girl.  You enjoyed sitting in your Bumbo and thought it was fun when we would prop you up in the corner of the furniture so you could sit up right.  You also started playing by your self for a few minutes at a time.

You still kept mama guessing with your night time sleep habits.  You started going to bed a lot easier.  We developed a nice bedtime routine that includes a bath, bottle and snuggles with daddy most nights.  You were still waking up a few times a night, sometimes 2, sometimes 5, sometimes you slept all the way through.  You like to keep mama on her toes.

This month we actually had a few days where you were happier than you were sad.  This made mama and Daddy very happy even though you still like to keep us both super busy!
