3 Months Old!

You turned 3 months old in February.

In February we also started settling into a little routine.  You still only napped for about 30 minutes at a time, but I finally noticed this pattern and was able to work it into a schedule of sorts.  You usually take about 3-4 30 minute naps a day.  I think you would be a much happier baby if you slept for a couple of hours in a row, but I guess you are afraid something fun will happen while you are sleeping.  You are such a silly girl when it comes to sleep.

Mama finally started to get into a routine and began to figure out to how keep the housework done while taking care of you at the same time.  You did a lot of housework with me, because propped on my hip watching what I was doing was one of the only things that kept you happy while I worked.

You got thrush.  It took us forever to get rid of it and you sported a purple mouth for a couple of weeks.

You went on walks outside almost daily, loved snuggling with your daddy, and wanted desperately to sit up like a big girl.  You enjoyed sitting in your Bumbo and thought it was fun when we would prop you up in the corner of the furniture so you could sit up right.  You also started playing by your self for a few minutes at a time.

You still kept mama guessing with your night time sleep habits.  You started going to bed a lot easier.  We developed a nice bedtime routine that includes a bath, bottle and snuggles with daddy most nights.  You were still waking up a few times a night, sometimes 2, sometimes 5, sometimes you slept all the way through.  You like to keep mama on her toes.

This month we actually had a few days where you were happier than you were sad.  This made mama and Daddy very happy even though you still like to keep us both super busy!

2 Months Old!

You turned two months old in January!

When you were two months old you discovered you had a tongue and loved to play with it and stuck it out all the time.  You also started showing us little smiles.  They were so cute, but they didn't happen often or last long.

We learned that you are sensitive to dairy products and super sensitive to caffeine.  You would be awake for hours and hours when mommy had a coke or coffee.  Mommy had to stop eating dairy except in small amounts also.  It was worth it, although mommy sure does miss her Dr. Pepper and her ice cream.

We spent many hours walking around the apartment at night trying to get you to sleep.  We continued to spend a lot of time in the laundry room to get you to drift in to dream land.

We learned that you loved to be outside and take walks around the apartments.  Thankfully we had a very mild winter so we were able to take regular walks.

We took you to the doctor and got you some medicine for acid reflux which helped you feel better and also helped you sleep better at night.  I also started you some some probiotics to help your little tummy get its digestive issues regulated.  Slowly, but surely you started  settling down into your new little life.

You celebrated mommy's birthday with her by going to look at the Christmas lights by the beach.  You slept the whole time, so I am not sure that you were that impressed.

You fell in love with your Poppa's pillow, which he happily let you borrow for a few weeks so you could lay on your little tummy while people patted your back.

You moved into your own room when you were 6 weeks old.  You looked so tiny in there all by yourself, but it was time for you to have your own space.  You also outgrew your newborn clothes at 6 weeks, so mommy had to pack them up and get out your 0-3 month clothes.

You newborn blood work came back abnormal so we had to take you to hematologist to have it redone.  That was a very traumatic day for Mommy and you.  They stuck a needle in your tiny little arm and made you scream so loud.  Mommy shed a couple of tears too.

Your second month of life was pretty stressful, but your Mommy and Daddy were starting to figure out little bits of your personality and were falling even more in love.

First Christmas

We had a very low key Christmas this year.  Chloe was our little Christmas gift and we spent the day just being with family.  We went to Clint's parent's house and celebrated with them, Clint's brother, Jeremy and family, Clint's Grandma and other aunts, uncles and cousins.  It was a nice relaxing day.  Chloe go all kinds of good things.  I didn't get a lot of pictures on Christmas day.  By the time I kept the baby happy and open her gifts and mine the camera was kind of forgotten.  I did a few pictures from Christmas eve though.

One Month Old!

You turned one month old in December and you did it with a bang lots of screaming.  At about 3 weeks colic hit.  You screamed a whole lot.  It took hours for Mommy and Daddy to get you to sleep.  We walked around the apartment, rocked, bounced you up and down and patted your back.  We learned that you liked the sound of the shower and the washer.  We spent a lot of time in the bathroom with the shower running, and you usually fell asleep for the night while we were sitting in the laundry room while your diapers washed.  We washed a lot of laundry!!  You slept in Mommy and Daddy's room in your pack and play.

We also learned that you hate your baths, your car seat and naps.  In fact we couldn't find a lot of things that you did like in your first month of life, but we were in love with you anyway.  We spent a lot of time together because you never slept and needed lots of love.  You didn't really like nursing, at all.  We kept at it and we both eventually caught on and almost overnight you became a pro.  You had the biggest appetite of any little one month baby I ever knew.  I was amazed at how much one tiny little girl could eat!  You were the cutest, tiniest, little thing we had ever seen.  We took lots of pictures and had fun showing you off to all of our family.

You had your first trip to the beach when you were a week old.  I think you liked it, you slept the whole time we were there.  We picked a pretty shell as a souvenir.  Your daddy loves the beach so I know there will be many more trips as you get older.

First Thanksgiving

So this post is a couple of months and a few holidays late, but I didn't want to leave it out for sure!

This Thanksgiving was very low key.  There were some pretty difficult circumstances taking place in our little family and we spent the day just being with the family that was able to attend.  I was just a little sleep deprived and foggy still from trying to figure out what in the world to do with the the tiny little person that was in my care!

There was lots of family to love on us and help me take care of our little angel.  We spent the day in West Columbia with Clint's family.  We had a very lovely dinner and a very small gathering of family.  It was a very nice get together.

Clint's Uncle Tim - Chloe sure did check him out

Great-great Aunt Karen - She has the magic touch for getting Chloe to sleep

 Clint's cousin - Charity

 So peaceful

This Thanksgiving will not be one that will be quickly forgotten for several reasons, some good, some bad, but Chloe was the bright spot for sure!

Meeting the Family

Ok, getting current may take longer than I thought, but I am going to give it a shot.  You might want to hold on though....  We have 3 months to cover!  Don't worry, I won't cover 3 months in one post!  :)

For some reason I can't find a picture of Pawpaw....  I think it must have been on a phone that we no longer have...  I thought I had one somewhere else too, but I can't find it anywhere....  If I find it later I'll add it.  If any family member happens to have a picture of Pawpaw and Chloe and can send it to me I would like that too!!!
