Fun Times in Amarillo

I am finally getting back to posting about our Amarillo trip.  We have been home a little over a week and we have been trying to get caught up on the house work and get things ready to start packing for our move.  Its been a crazy busy week.

While we were in Amarillo pretty much everyone got a cold.  It dampened the fun quite a bit.  Chloe was a mess.  She was cutting at least 5 teeth.  She had an earache, a 103 fever for several days, a cold and some kind of virus that left her with a rash when the fever left.  Poor thing was miserable.  She refused to like her Mimi, only tolerated the rest of the family and was generally stuck to my hip the whole two weeks.  Because of that I didn't get as many cute pictures as I wanted.  Thanks to at least one child being sick or crying at all times the entire two weeks we didn't even get any pictures of all the cousins together.  Hopefully next trip will be better.  Overall we did still have a good time getting to see family.  We got to experience a major blizzard that kept us in Amarillo an extra day.  I was tired and we were very glad to see Clint when we got home though.  I did get a few pictures of fun times when Chloe wasn't crying.

 Natalie LOVED Aunt Bert's puppy!

A little blurry but it was such a sweet picture

Chloe and Rugar trying to figure out how to play with the wagon

I was doing laundry and Chloe "packed" herself in the suitcase

The little cousins feeding the puppy treats

Cousins and Mimi playing with the toys

 The crafting table

 Potholders

 Knitting lessons

Little helpers sweeping the floor

All kinds of excitement for two weeks.  Chloe taught Savannah that bath water is delicious, kitchen cabinets hold all kinds of fun toys and the cat water can be fun! Chloe learned that highchair buckles are pretty interesting, she needs to drag every blanket she owns all over the house and squeeze pouches of food are yummy.

Hopefully it won't be another year and a half before we get to visit again and next time the cousins will have more fun because they won't all be sick!

Amarillo Trip

We finally made a trip to Amarillo the beginning of September.  Up until then the only members of my family that had met Chloe were my parents and she is 10 months old!  It made me very sad.  It had been almost a year since I had been back to my sister and grandparents as well so we were really over due to visit.

We had a good trip.  Chloe did great in the car.  Towards the end of the trip both ways she started to get fussy, but I usually do too!  We decided to drive part way and stay the night both ways which helped so much.  11 hours is a long time in the car for me not to mention a little girl strapped down in her baby seat.  We brought toys and snacks and worked the trip around nap times and we all survived with only one screaming episode and one episode of car sickness.

Our little girl is a super light sleeper when she isn't in bed, so when we stopped for the night at the hotels she woke up every time and wanted to party in the middle of the night which was a little rough on mama and daddy.  She also had a hard time sleeping those nights, but we all survived and had a great time in the mean time.

It felt so good to get out of town and leave all the worries behind for a few days.  Chloe got to meet her Aunt Becky and her great grandparents and a great aunt.  She loved playing in Mimi and Pawpaw's big house and big yard and she made friends with Aunt Becky's kitty.

We are hoping to get to go back for Christmas.  I haven't been with my family for Christmas for the past two years so it would be really nice if we are able to make it work.  We will have to see if the finances cooperate.

All smiles ready for the new adventure

Off Boat Adventures

As I promised, here are the pictures from our shore excursions on our honeymoon trip. Not all of them are the greatest quality because we had to use disposable waterproof cameras instead of the good camera but some of them turned out really good. Enjoy!

Stop number 1. Cozumel, Mexico.

The view of the beach where we spent the day in Cozumel.

More beach pictures. The water was amazing, all colors of blue and green and so clear. I have never seen water like that before.

The group of people from our ship that went with us. Our tour guides are the crazy ones in the front.

Getting ready to go snorkeling.

Beautiful beach.

Kayaking. FUN!

The view from under the water. I had issues with the snorkeling but Clint loved it and got to see some pretty cool stuff.

More of the fish.

A Barracuda.

My hubby with some shells.

Stop number 2. Calica, Mexico

We got to play with dolphins. We had SO much fun.

Up close and personal.

And the view from under the water.

He was having so much fun!

Flying through the water. What you can't see is the dolphin under the water with his nose on my feet pushing me. We went so fast!

Clint getting his turn being pushed by the dolphin

Playing with his hula hoop.

Showing off again.

A different dolphin in the same park. We didn't get to play with her but her baby was very cute.

And that is our trip in pictures. We had so much fun and we can't wait to go again someday.

Project 365: Week Five

Ok, so there are still some more pictures to post from our trip but I would like to hang out with my husband tonight so they are going to have to wait. I will post our weekly pictures and save the rest for another day later this week so be sure to check back to see some of the sights we saw when we were not on the ship. :)

Week five in pictures.

8.25.09 The first morning on the boat. This was our view for breakfast. We are kinda dark but it makes the ocean look very vivid.

8.26.09 Our first stop was in Cozumel.

8.27.09 The color of the water was amazing.

8.28.09 Us and the group picture of all of towel animals.

8.29.09 Wating for them to call our deck so we can get off the ship.

8.30.09 We had so much laundry when we got back so we teamed it up. Lucy wasn't gonna let us out of her sight for too long that day. She missed us a lot.

8.31.09 Today is my sister's birthday so Clint, Lucy and I want to wish her a Happy Birthday! So glad she is feeling better and gets to spend the day at home instead of the hospital.
